Separation of Methanol-Acetonitrile Azeotrope System by Ionic Liquid Extractive Distillation
The ionic liquid 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate([HMIM][PF6])was used as the entrainer for separating the azeotrope system of methanol and acetonitrile. The ternary vapor-liquid equilibrium(VLE)data were obtained at 101.3 kPa.The experimental data were correlated with the non-random dual-liquid(NRTL)model to obtain the binary interaction parameters. At the same time, the minimum mole fraction required to break the azeotrope was calculated to be 0.036 7.The separation mechanism was explained by excess enthalpy analysis.
