Study on Effect of Acidification Time on Metal Detection by ICP-MS
The determination of metal content in water by inductive coupled plasma mass spectrometer(ICP-MS)has been widely used in water quality and environmental monitoring laboratories. However,in the current effective standards, there is no clear explanation of the pretreatment methods such as acidification time and acid addition order. In this experiment,ICP-MS was used to determine the soluble element content and total amount of 21 metals in surface water and surface water spiked sample to explore the influence of different acid addition order and acidification digestion time on the test results. The results showed that,in order to determine the total amount of surface water elements, acid should be added on site, acidified for 4 h,and filtered with 0.45 μm filter membrane; In order to determine soluble elements, the sample should be well shaken on site, and filtered with 0.45 μm filter, saved with acid, and determined as soon as possible.
