A Highly Efficient Method for N-Methylation of Dipropylamine
The methylation reaction of amines is a common and important reaction that has been studied extensively in organic synthesis.N-methylated compounds are widely used in drug synthesis, dyes, detection agents, biological intermediates and detergents.N-methylation reactions in traditional synthesis, require methylating reagents and reducing agents, are not conducive to sustainable development.A new route was developed to achieve the dimethylation of dipropylamine using only formaldehyde as starting material, and the effect of different reaction conditions and the N-methylation of different dipropylamines were investigated, the N-methylation of common secondary amines was discussed.
