GC-MS Analysis of Tar from Infrared Rapid Pyrolysis of Furfural Residue
The characteristics of furfural residues are low ash content, high volatile content, and containing a small amount of N and S elements. When it burns, harmful substances such as NOx and SO2 will be produced. If NOx and SO2 are not treated properly, they will cause serious pollution to the environment. In this study,a fast pyrolysis experiment of furfural residues was conducted using an infrared rapid pyrolysis furnace with N2 as the carrier gas under 500℃conditions.The results showed that the tar obtained by infrared rapid pyrolysis contained a large amount of aromatic compounds, accounting for about 40%,mainly phenol and its derivatives. In addition, the content of furan and its derivatives and ketones was also high, each accounting for about 20%,and there were also small amounts of alcohols, pyrans, and anthracene oils.
