Effect of Hydrothermal Conditions on Modification of Magnesium Hydroxide Powder
The influence of hydrothermal conditions on the modification of magnesium hydroxide was investigated. The obtained products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X ray diffraction(XRD),laser particle size analyzer and surface area analyzer. The experimental results showed that the concentration of mineralizers, temperature, and time had significant effect on the particle size and morphology of the products.Using magnesium hydroxide powder prepared from magnesium sulfate as the precursor, under the conditions of mineralizer concentration of 0.6 mol·L-1,hydrothermal temperature of 140℃,and hydrothermal time of 6 h,hexagonal sheet shaped products with D50 of 10.58 μm,I001/I101 of 1.22 and specific surface area of 22.41 m2·g-1 could be obtained.
