Solidification/Stabilization of Oily Sludge Using Magnesium Oxychloride Cement
To realize the resource disposal of oily sludge from oil field, magnesium oxychloride cement was used to solidify it.The effects of MOC composition(Rn the molar ratio of MgO to MgCl2)and the mass ratio of oily sludge to MOC(Rm)on the equilibrium compressive strength of the consolidated body were investigated. The results showed that MOC could effectively solidify oil sludge sand, and the compressive strength decreased with the increase of oil content of oily sludge sand, and increased first and then decreased with the increase of Rn and Rm,and reached the maximum when Rn=2.0~3.0 and Rm=1.2~1.6.Under the studied conditions, the maximum equilibrium compressive strength of the consolidated body could reach above 11.20 MPa,meeting the mechanical strength requirement of MU10 in Non-fired rubbish gangue brick(JC/T 422-2007),and MOC could stabilize more than 95%of the oil in the oil sludge sand in the consolidated body, effectively reducing the secondary pollution of the oil sludge sand to the soil. This result provides a theoretical basis for the oily sludge sand to be used as a building material.
