Synthesis of a Low Sensitivity Retarder for Well Cementing
With the rapid development of cementing retarders, the requirement of sensitivity for high-temperature retarders is also increasing. In this article, common monomers such as itaconic acid and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid were used for aqueous solution polymerization, and then organic phosphates was added to prepare a low sensitivity retarder R51L.The low sensitivity retarder R51L was characterized by analytical testing methods such as infrared absorption spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis.Low sensitivity retarder R51L is a medium to high temperature retarder suitable for the temperature range of 120~220℃.It has the characteristics of low dosage and temperature sensitivity, short transition time,no effect on mixing time, and good compatibility with other additives. The successful synthesis of this low sensitivity retarder provides more reference ideas for the functionalization of retarders used in oil well cement in the future.
