Effect of pH on Stability of SiO2-ZrO2 Composite Sol
The composite sol was prepared by sol-gel method using ZrOCl2·8H2O and TEOS as precursors, anhydrous ethanol as solvent, hydrochloric acid or ammonia as catalyst, tetraethyl ammonium bromide(TEAB)and N,N-dimethyl formamide(DMF)as template. The effects of pH,zirconium content and template on the stability of sol were investigated. The results showed that the stability of sol prepared with hydrochloric acid as catalyst was better than that prepared with ammonia water as catalyzst, the stability of sol prepared with TEAB as template was better than that prepared without template agent and with DMF as template. With the decrease of pH,the aging time of sol first rose and then decreased, and the maximum value of sol stability occurred around pH=3.The orthogonal experiment result showed that the order of influence weight of each factor from big to small was as follows pH,zirconium content, ethanol content, template.
