Comparison of Straw Charcoal Modification Processes and Adsorption Characteristics of Nitrogen and Phosphorus in Wastewater Plant Tailwater
In order to solve the problem of deep nitrogen and phosphorus removal from the tail water of wastewater treatment plant, straw charcoal was used as adsorption material, and single modification of straw charcoal with different concentrations of acid and alkali salts as well as combined modification of zinc lanthanum was carried out to determine the best modification process for the best performance of nitrogen and phosphorus removal by comparing the adsorption amount and the removal rate of nitrogen and phosphorus. The results showed that through the ZnCl2-lanthanum chloride heptahydrate combination modification, the mass concentration of ZnCl2 was 100 mg·L-1 and the concentration of lanthanum chloride heptahydrate was 0.5 mol·L-1,the total phosphorus removal rate and adsorption amount were 98.95%and 0.990 mg·g-1,respectively,and the ammonia nitrogen removal rate and adsorption amount were 35.86%and 2.869 mg·g-1,respectively,the combination modification process was the optimal modification scheme. The scanning electron microscope was used to observe the straw charcoal before and after the modification, the results of the characterization pictures showed that after the combination of ZnCl2-heptahydrate lanthanum chloride modification of straw charcoal, the modified straw charcoal had significantly increased the number of holes, the arrangement of the holes was regular, the specific surface area increased, and the straw charcoal modified by the combination had better effect on the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus than that of the single modification.
