Hypoglycemic effect of flavonoids of Actinidia arguta
A model of type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus in mice was established by feeding high-fat and high-glucose diet and injecting Streptozotocin for exploring hypoglycemic effect of flavonoids of Actinidia arguta.Successfully modeled mice were randonly divided into 6 groups with 12 mice in each group, including control group,high-fat and high-glucose model group, metformin group,low-dose flavonoid group,medium-dose flavonoid group and high-dose flavonoid group. The fasting plasma glucose, serum insulin,mRNA expression of glucokinase in liver and glucokinase activity of mice were measured after 60 days by gavage of metformin and different doses of A.arguta solution. The results showed that compared with the high-fat and high-glucose model group, the fasting plasma glucose and serum insulin of mice were effectively reduced in both the medium and high-dose flavonoid groups. The mRNA expression of glucokinase in liver for three flavonoid dosages of A.arguta were all promoted, and the activity of glucokinase were significantly increased. This study will be a theoretical foundation for the development of A.arguta flavonoids used as functional components for regulating glucose metabolism.
