Preliminary Study on the Application Effect of Selenium Rich Organic Fertilizer on Corn
Selenium is an essential trace element for human body,which has been proved by medical science to have a variety of beneficial biological functions.Corn is an important food and feed crop.It is a safe and ef-fective way to enrich selenium by corn and supplement selenium for animals and human body.The effects of selenium fertilizer on agronomic characters,yield-related characters,yield and grain selenium and other trace elements of maize were studied by spraying selenium fertilizer on leaf surface.The results showed that spraying Selenium-enriched organic fertilizer had no significant effect on plant height,ear diameter,stem diameter and other agronomic characters,but it could significantly reduce the bald point of maize and increase the number and weight of maize grains.With the increase of spraying times,there was a positive correlation between the yield and the increase range of 10.33%～25.17%.Selenium-enriched organic fertilizer spraying could signifi-cantly increase the contents of Mo,Ca,Fe and Mn in corn grains.The selenium content of corn grains was 234.6 μg/kg and 323.9 μg/kg,respectively,when applied twice and three times,Selenium-enriched corn could be produced.
