The realistic foundation and path selection of China's participation in global marine pollution control from the perspective of the maritime community of shared future
The present state of marine pollution on a global scale is grim,and the complex internation-al situation poses obstacles to cooperation in controlling marine pollution.Therefore,it is imperative and essential to overcome these challenges and establish a comprehensive global system for marine pollution control.This paper analyzes the practical foundation for China's involvement in global ma-rine pollution control by employing the geopolitical influence model,and proposes a framework for China's participation in global marine pollution control from the standpoint of the maritime commu-nity of shared future.The results show that:①The issue of global marine pollution is currently con-fronted with challenges such as the delayed implementation of pollution control measures,the for-mulation of irrational regulations,and notable disparities in governance.②The realistic foundation of China's involvement in global marine pollution control:the growing'blue influence'during economic development and the establishment of the"Belt and Road",and the accumulation of experi-ence in international cooperation for marine pollution control and domestic efforts in this regard.③The proposed path entails the establishment of a marine pollution control platform centered around the"Belt and Road"initiative,which aims to revitalize the global marine pollution control system through the universalization of regulations,enriching the governance process and innovation of man-agement mechanisms by stage.
