Application research of traditional Chinese medicine and probiotics formula in the prevention and treatment of Mycoplasma synoviae infection in chickens
The study aimed to validate the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine and probiotics in the prevention and treatment of MS infection, with the goal of effectively controlling the prevalence of MS in chickens.Initially, traditional Chinese medicine herbs with inhibitory effects on MS,namely licorice and dandelion, were selected through in vitro screening. These were supplemented with traditional Chinese medicine herbs Ramulus mori and rhizome of Szechuan lovage, known for their blood-activating and stasis-removing functions. The combination of these herbs, along with two strains of plant-derived Lactobacilli(BLCC2-0418,BLCC2-0287),formed the traditional Chinese medicine and probiotics formula. The formula's therapeutic effects on MS-infected broilers were investigated in an MS model. The results demonstrated that the traditional Chinese medicine and probiotics formula significantly alleviated weight loss, decreased feed intake, and reduced the observed increase in footpad thickness and joint diameter caused by MS infection. The formula mitigated joint damage, increased serum IgG antibody levels, and enhanced the overall immune response.Furthermore,it lowered the levels of the inflammatory cytokine IL-6 in the serum, elevated the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 content, and suppressed arthritis-related inflammation, thereby exerting a positive therapeutic effect on MS-induced joint lesions. This study suggests that the traditional Chinese medicine and probiotics formula can reduce joint damage caused by MS infection.
