Safety evaluation of 'Xianshanhuang'compound preparation to tilapia
The purpose of the experiment was to explore the safety of'Xianshanhuang'compound preparation to tilapia.360 tilapia were randomly divided into four experimental groups:The blank control group,1-dose group,3-dose group,and 5-dose group,with three replicates in each group and 30 tilapia in each replicate.Tilapia in the blank control group was fed with basic diet,and each experimental group was fed with 1,3,5 times of the recommended dosage of'Xianshanhuang'compound preparation(i.e.5,15,25 g/kg).The trial period was 30 days.The results showed that'Xianshanhuang'compound preparation within 5 times of recommended dosage could promote the growth,weight gain rate,specific growth rate and fatness of tilapia(P＜0.05),but had no obvious effect on blood routine and serum biochemical indexes(P＞0.05).Necropsy showed no obvious visceral lesions,liver and spleen slices with clear tissue structure,complete cells with no pathological changes.The results showed that the compound preparation of'Xianshanhuang'was continuously fed to tilapia for 30 days according to 1,3 and 5 times of the recommended dosage,and had no toxic and side effects,which was safe and could improve the growth performance of tilapia.
