Diagnosis and treatment of oral melanoma in a Labrador dog
Oral malignant melanoma is the most common type of tumor in the canine oral cavity,which is characterized by strong aggressiveness and a high distant metastasis rate.The prognosis of oral malignant melanoma is poor,and most dogs die due to tumor progression.The article reports on the diagnosis and treatment of a case of oral melanoma in a Labrador dog.Based on the results of clinical examination,cytology,blood routine and blood biochemical examination,imaging examination,and histopathological examination,the dog was diagnosed with oral melanoma.The sick dog was treated with argon-helium knife cryoablation.One week after treatment,the symptoms of the sick dog were significantly relieved.In the recent follow-up,the condition of the sick dog tended to be stable,and no tumor recurrence was seen in the oral cavity.
