Investigation on intestinal parasite infection of beef cattle in a cattle farm in Yulin City
The purpose of the study was to understand the parasite infection of beef cattle in a cattle farm in Yulin City.Fifty-four fresh feces of beef cattle were randomly collected from a cattle farm in Yulin City, and the species, infection rate and infection intensity of beef cattle parasites were detected by saturated salt floatation, centrifugal precipitation and Stauer egg counting. The results showed that the parasite infection rate of beef cattle in the cattle farm was 53.7%,among which the parasite infection rate of calves was 92.9%,and that of adult cattle was 40.0%.The infection rates of nematodes, tapeworms, trematodes, and coccidia in beef cattle were 42.6%,25.9%,0,and 40.7%,respectively.The average infection intensity of nematodes, tapeworms and coccidia were 434,90 and 264/g,respectively,and there were mixed infections, with a double infection rate of 33.3%and a triple infection rate of 11.1%.Nematodes and coccidia are the main types of parasites infected in the cattle farm. The research shows that the infection rate of parasites in beef cattle of different ages is different, and the infection rate of calves is much higher than that of adult cattle. The cattle farm in Yulin City should strengthen the prevention and treatment of parasitic diseases.
