Diagnosis and treatment of gastric volvulus and gastric dilatation in a dog
The pathological causes of gastric volvulus and gastric dilatation are very complex and have not been fully explained.Clinically,gastric volvulus and gastric dilatation in dogs are emergency cases,which can endanger life in severe cases and need immediate diagnosis and surgery as soon as possible.Gastric torsion and dilatation in dogs are characterized by rapid accumulation of gas in the stomach,increased pressure in the stomach and different degrees of gastric body displacement.Typical symptoms of dogs are vomiting,abdominal pain,and obvious flatulence.This article mainly describes the diagnosis and treatment of a dog with gastric torsion and gastric dilatation.After the dog was diagnosed by abdominal X-ray examination,it recovered well and was discharged smoothly after surgical treatment,infusion treatment,proper nutrition management,and other necessary symptomatic treatment.
