Research progress on drug resistance of Streptococcus suis to β-lactam antibiotics
Streptococcus suis is a common and harmful animal disease in pig breeding. The pathogen of this disease is a variety of streptococci of Streptococcus of Coccidae, among which Streptococcus suis type 2 is an important zoonotic pathogen.β-lactam antibiotics have always been the first choice for the treatment of Streptococcus suis. However, due to the long-term selection, the resistance of Streptococcus suis to β-lactam antibiotics has gradually increased, which poses a threat to the clinical treatment of Streptococcus suis.In the paper, the epidemic and pathogenic characteristics of Streptococcus suis, the resistance mechanism, and current situation of Streptococcus suis to β-lactam antibiotics were summarized,in order to provide a reference for guiding clinical medication and new drug research and development.
