Investigation on parasite infection in digestive tract of Tibetan sheep at plateau in Xiahe County
The purpose of the study is to better understand the infection of digestive tract parasites in Tibetan sheep at Xiahe County, and to provide a reference for the prevention and control of digestive tract parasites in Tibetan sheep at local plateau. Before deworming in spring and autumn, fresh feces of Tibetan sheep were collected from five sites in Xiahe County,Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The feces were examined by microscope by egg floating method, sedimentation method and McMaster's method, and the results were statistically analyzed. The results showed that the total positive rate of alimentary tract parasites of Tibetan sheep in Xiahe County was 97.50%,among which the positive rate of alimentary tract nematodes was 91.33%,and the average infection intensity was 1011.75/g.The positive rate of trematodes in digestive tract was 11.45%,and the average infection intensity was 195.24/g.The positive rate of tapeworms in digestive tract was 4.79%,and the average infection intensity was 185.71/g.The positive rate of coccidia in digestive tract was 75.52%,and the average infection intensity was 981.22/g.The study indicates that the parasitic infection of Tibetan sheep in Xiahe County is serious, among which nematodes and coccidia have high infection rate and high infection intensity,so it is still necessary to strengthen the prevention and control of Tibetan sheep parasitic diseases.
