Comparative study on quality of whole-plant corn silage in Guizhou Province from 2019 to 2022
The aim of the study was to provide a reference for rational feeding of whole-plant corn silage in different breeding enterprises in Guizhou Province.83 whole corn silage samples were collected from farms in Guizhou Province, and the whole-plant corn silage quality classification index was used for quality evaluation. The results showed as follows:Compared with 2019,the digestibility of dry matter, crude protein,30 h neutral detergent fiber, starch, and crude fat contents of whole-plant corn silage in 2022 were increased by 1.9%,4.1%,6.2%,1.5%,and 13.1%,respectively.The content of neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber and ash decreased by 4.4%,8.7%,and 19.7%respectively.The pH value, ammoniacal nitrogen content and acetic acid content decreased by 1.2%,2.4%,and 47.3%,respectively.The quality of whole-plant corn silage in Guizhou Province was improved from 2019 to 2022,but it was still lower than the national average. The dry matter content was 7.4%,7.5%,6.9%,and 2.8%lower than the national average.Starch content was 12.5%,31.5%,12.6%,and 9.5%lower than the national average.Silage grading scores were 10.7%,10.3%,11.2%,and 4.7%lower than the national average, respectively. However, the crude protein content was 7.2%,7.0%,5.6%,and 4.5%higher than the national average, respectively. The study indicates that compared with the national level, the whole corn silage quality in Guizhou Province is in the middle level.
