Canine distemper(CD)is a severe infectious disease caused by canine distemper virus(CDV).The host range is wide, the infected animals have complicated clinical symptoms and high mortality.Hemagglutinin(H)protein is one of the structural proteins of CDV and has major specific antigen sites. It can interact with signal transducing lymphocyte activating molecule(SLAM)or epithelial cell adhesion protein Nectin-4 to mediate the adsorption and germination of viruses, and is closely related to the transmission of CDV across animal species. In this paper, the function and characteristics of CDV H protein were summarized, and the pathogenicity of H protein to CDV and the research progress of vaccine were discussed,in order to provide a reference for H protein research and CD prevention and control.
