Investigation on Salmonella contamination and detection of virulence genes in a pigeon farm in Kashgar
The purpose of this experiment was to explore the contamination and virulence gene carrying of Salmonella in pigeon farms in Kashgar, and to provide a reference for the prevention and control of Salmonella. From April to September,2023,280 samples collected from a pigeon farm in Kashgar were isolated and identified by selective medium combined with PCR.The homology of the isolates was analyzed by sequencing results, and the virulence gene carrying of Salmonella was detected by PCR.The results showed that the total isolation rate of Salmonella in collected samples was 5.7%(16/280).Virulence genes of 16 strains of Salmonella were detected. The positive rate of sseL,spvA,spvC,spvR,fliC,fimA,stn, and mgtC was 100.00%,spvD was 93.75%,mogA and bcfA was 87.50%,spvB was 56.25%.The homology of 16 strains of Salmonella ranged from 88.4%~100.0%,and the difference ranged from 0~7.7.The study indicates that the pigeon farm has a certain epidemic risk of Salmonella, the pollution rate in slaughtering is higher than that in breeding, the virulence gene carrying rate of isolates is high, the homology of isolates is high, and the difference is small.
