Research progress on the epidemiology of H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza virus
Since canine influenza virus(CIV)was first discovered in the United States in 2004,CIV has been widely spread around the world through continuous evolution and cross-species transmission.Because dogs are susceptible to many influenza viruses, the influence of influenza viruses on dogs and the risk of zoonotic pandemic influenza can not be ignored. The article reviews the etiology of CIV and the epidemiology of two stable subtypes of CIV(H3N2 and H3N8),in order to provide a reference for the prevention, diagnosis and vaccine development of CIV.
