Studies to improve the effect of embryo transfer in callipyge Charolais sheep
The aim of this study was to determine the optimal dose of follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)and the best fatness and the best embryo transfer month in ewes with superovulation, and to provide a reference for the optimization of embryo transfer scheme in callipyge Charolais sheep. The experiment compared the embryo number and fertilization rate of ewes of callipyge Charolais sheep with different doses of FSH and embryo transfer in different months, and compared the embryo number of ewes of callipyge Charolais sheep with different fatness. The results showed that the optimal dose and injection method of FSH in ewes with superovulation of callipyge Charolais sheep at different ages were 140 IU in total FSH used by ewes at one year of age, with 25 IU as the first dose decreasing day by day.The total FSH used by ewes aged 2 to 5 years was 160 IU,with 28 IU as the first dose decreasing day by day.The total amount of FSH used by ewes over 6 years old was 180 IU,with 32 IU as the first dose decreasing day by day.The best month for embryo transfer of callipyge Charolais sheep in Liaoning was October to December, and the conception rate and embryo availability rate were the highest. The optimal ovulatory condition of callipyge Charolais sheep ewes was to increase the donor ewes'fatness from 6.5 to 8.0 by short-term optimal feeding, and the average number of embryos was 11.4.The results showed that in October to December in Liaoning province,2 to 5 years old callipyge Charolais sheep ewes were used as donors to improve the body condition from 6.5 to 8.0 in a short term, and the FSH was decreased day by day at 28 IU for the first time, and the embryo transfer effect was the best.
