Investigation and analysis of nutritional quality of different types of dog food
The aim of this study was to evaluate the nutritional quality of four different types of dog food.Four types of dog food, including expanded food(M),fresh meat food(F),baked food(B)and probiotic food(P),were selected and 10 pieces of each were used to detect the content of important nutrients protein, amino acid, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin and the main component of plasticizer bisphenol A(BPA).The results showed that the protein content of each group ranged from 21.1%to 40.4%,and the average crude protein content of groups M,F,B and P were 30.5%,30.5%,26.5%,and 30.7%,respectively.There was a large gap between the measured value and the calibration value of group B.The amino acid composition of different samples is different, and the content of histidine and methionine+cystine in individual samples does not reach the minimum requirement. The VE content of some samples is not up to standard, especially the VE content of group P is not up to standard. The calcium-phosphorus ratio of each group of products was in the range of 1.2~1.7,which met the needs of dogs.BPA was detected in all samples, and the content of group B was low.Studies have shown that most of the samples can meet the nutritional needs of dogs, but there is still room for improvement in the essential amino acids and vitamins of individual samples. Therefore,it is essential to strengthen the supervision and standardized management of dog food in the future to ensure the nutritional needs of dogs.
