A case report of acute renal failure secondary to feline restrictive cardiomyopathy
Restrictive cardiomyopathy(RCM)is a myocardial disease characterized by myocardial stiffness, severe diastolic dysfunction(restrictive physiological changes),and poor overall prognosis, and is characterized by restrictive filling disorders.Structural or functional damage to the cardiovascular system may lead to disruption of the normal interaction between the kidney and the cardiovascular system, ultimately leading to impairment or failure of kidney function. At the same time, the use of diuretics to control RCM induced heart failure may cause dehydration and activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system(RAAS)and secondary kidney injury. This article describes and discusses the diagnosis, treatment and changes of RCM in a British shorthair cat,and provides reference for the diagnosis and treatment of feline RCM.
