Effect of selenium on reproductive performance of sheep
Selenium plays an important role in the reproductive performance of animals. When the supply of selenium is insufficient,it will cause the imbalance of animal reproductive hormone secretion, the decrease of the activity of enzymes related to reproduction, and the variation of the organizational structure of reproductive organs, etc.,which affects the survival and development environment of sex cells, thus affecting the reproductive performance of animals. The effects of selenium on the reproductive performance of ewe and ram and on the development of offspring lambs were briefly reviewed in order to provide guidance for production practice.
