Observation on the effect of perioperative nursing in elderly patients with hip fracture based on BCW theory
Objective To investigate the effect of behavior change wheel(BCW)theory in the perioperative period of elderly patients with hip fracture. Methods A total of 100 elderly patients with hip fracture who were admitted to the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine from No-vember 2021 to November 2023 were selected as the study objects. All patients were divided into control group and obser-vation group by random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group received traditional nursing mode, and the observation group received perioperative nursing intervention based on BCW theory, including comprehen-sive nursing intervention and information health education. The differences in length of hospital stay, incidence of more than moderate pain during hospitalization, incidence of complications during hospitalization(venous thromboembolism, stress injury, delirium),nursing satisfaction at discharge, and quality of life after discharge were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the duration of hospitalization in the observation group was short-er,the occurrence of more than moderate pain was less, and the incidence of complications(venous thromboembolism, stress injury, delirium)was lower(all P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction and quality of life after discharge,2 weeks after discharge and 3 months after discharge in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Perioperative nursing interventions based on BCW theory can shorten the length of hospital stay of patients, reduce the sense of pain, reduce the incidence of complications, and improve patients'nursing satisfaction and quality of life after discharge.
