A qualitative study of factors influencing motor behavior in patients with stroke and sarcopenia
Objective To explore factors influencing motor behavior in patients with stroke and sarcopenia.Meth-ods The purposive sampling method was used to select 13 patients with stroke and sarcopenia who were hospitalized in Henan Provincial People's Hospital from November to December 2023.The descriptive research method was used to collect data by face-to-face semi-structured interview,and the traditional content analysis method was used to analyze the inter-view data and extract the theme.Results The influencing factors of motor behavior in stroke patients with sarcopenia can be classified into four themes(nine sub-themes),which are:individual factors(physical dysfunction,limited knowledge of disease and exercise,lack of exercise planning,perception of the exercise value),psychological factors(risk perception,exercise self-efficacy),social factors(professional advice and informational support,multiple external supports),and en-vironmental factors.Conclusions The exercise behaviors of stroke patients with sarcopenia is influenced by individual factors,psychological factors,social factors,and environmental factors.Clinical staff can promote the motor behavior of patients through several behavioral change strategies.
