Objective To explore the status quo of social support, fear of falling and risk of falling in elderly stroke patients and the relationship among them. Methods Stroke inpatients in the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning Univer-sity of TCM from December 2021 to March 2022 were selected by convenience sampling method.General data question-naire,fall risk assessment scale, the international fall efficacy scale and the social support rating scale were used for cross-sectional investigation.Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between social support, fear of fall-ing and fall risk in elderly stroke patients.AMOS24.0 was used to construct a structural equation model of social support, fear of falling and fall risk in elderly stroke patients to analyze the relationship among the three. Results A total of 251 questionnaires were distributed and 246 valid questionnaires were returned, with an effective recovery rate of 98.01%.The scores of social support, fear of falling and risk of falling in elderly stroke patients were 29.60±7.74,21.02±4.23 and 31.33±8.30.Structural equation model results showed that:Social support had a direct negative effect on fear of falling(β=-0.533,P<0.05)and a direct negative effect(β=-0.640,P<0.05)and an indirect negative effect(β=-0.146,P<0.05)on fear of falling.Fear of falling had a direct positive effect on risk of falling(β=0.284,P<0.05).Conclusion Social support for elderly stroke patients has an important inhibitory effect on the risk of falling and the fear of falling, while the fear of falling has an important promotional effect on the risk of falling.
