MRI manifestation of primary fallopian tube cancer in elderly women
Objective To analyze MRI manifestation of primary fallopian tube carcinoma(PFTC)in elderly women and improve its diagnostic accuracy. Methods MRI manifestation of 15 patients withPFTC confirmed by pathology in Hua-dong Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University from January 2013 to June 2023 was retrospectively analyzed. The maximum di-ameter of the lesion was measured, and the signal intensity, morphology and enhanced performance were observed. The en-hancement rate and apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)value were measured and compared with those of myometrium. Results There were 16 lesions in 15 patientswithPFTC,including5 tubularia with nodules,2 salami lesions and 9 lumps.Cap-sular enhancement was observed in 6 lesions. The enhancement rates of late lesions and myometrium were(1.71±0.78)and(2.34±0.58),respectively,and the difference was statistically significant. The ADC values of the lesion and myometrium were(0.788±0.133)×10-3 mm2/s and(1.285±0.216)×10-3 mm2/s,respectively,with statistically significant differ-ences.Hydrosalpinx was found in 5 cases, hydrocele in 1 case, and no normal ovaries were found. Conclusion MRI of PFTC in elderly women has characteristic manifestation.Normal ovaries are not easily displayed in elderly female patients with PFTC,which may increase the difficulty of diagnosis.
