Expression and clinical significance of Lemur tyrosine kinase 3 in lung adenocarcinoma tissues of elderly patients
Objective To investigate the expression of Lemur tyrosine kinase 3(LMTK3)in the tissues and serum of elderly patients with lung adenocarcinoma, and study the relationship between the differential expression of LMTK3 and the clinical characteristics of patients. Methods Elderly patients with lung adenocarcinoma diagnosed and treated in Jinshan Branch of Sixth People's Hospital of Shanghai City from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected.Surgical resection specimens from 10 patients with lung adenocarcinoma were collected. The expression of LMTK3 protein in lung adenocarcino-ma tissues and adjacent tissues were detected by immunohistochemical method, and the expression percentage of positive cells was calculated. The peripheral blood serum samples from 86 patients with lung adenocarcinoma were collected, and another pe-ripheral serum samples from 80 elderly healthy subjects who underwent physical examinations during the same period were col-lected as the control group. The level of serum LMTK3 were detected by ELISA,and the relationship between LMTK3 level and clinical features of patients with lung adenocarcinoma was analyzed. Results LMTK3 protein was detected in both lung ad-enocarcinoma tissue and adjacent normal tissues, and the level of LMTK3 protein in the cancerous tissues was significantly higher than that in the adjacent normal tissues, with statistical difference(P<0.05).The level of serum LMTK3 in the lung adenocarci-noma patients was significantly higher than that in the control group[(16.35±3.41)ng/mL vs(4.70±2.05)ng/mL](P<0.05),and higher LMTK3 level was associated with higher TNM staging(P<0.05)and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).Conclusion LMTK3 is highly expressed in lung adenocarcinoma tissues and serum of elderly patients with lung adenocarcino-ma,which may be closely related to higher TNM staging and lymph node metastasis.
