Relationship between self-perceived burden and hope level and social support in elderly patients with temporary ileostomy after colorectal cancer surgery
Objective To analyze the relationship between self-perceived burden and hope level and social support in elderly patients with temporary ileostomy after colorectal cancer surgery. Methods A total of 200 patients undergoing laparo-scopic radical resection of colorectal cancer combined with temporary ileostomy were selected from Department of Digestive Surgery,First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University from May 2021 to April 2023.The Self-Perceived Burden Scale(SPBS),Herth Hope Index(HHI)and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)were used to evaluate and compare the self-perceived burden, hope level and social support of the two groups, respectively.Multiple linear regression method was used to analyze the influencing factors for patients'perceived burden.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the rela-tionship between self-perceived burden and hope level and social support. Results The self-perceived burden, hope level, and social support scores of elderly patients with temporary ileostomy after colorectal cancer surgery were(32.16±4.72),(29.51±5.32),and(38.49±5.10)points,respectively,all at a moderate level. There were significant differences in SPBS scores among patients with different age, places of residence, monthly family income per capita, hope level and social support(P<0.05).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that monthly family income per capita, hope level and so-cial support were the influencing factors for self-perceived burden in elderly patients with temporary ileostomy after colorectal cancer surgery(P<0.05).The results of Pearson correlation analysis showed that self-perceived burden was negatively corre-lated with the hope level and social support(P<0.05).Conclusion The self-perceived burden is at a moderate level in elder-ly patients with temporary ileostomy after colorectal cancer surgery, which may be affected by monthly family income per capi-ta,hope level and social support.
