Application of dynamic glucose monitoring in management of elderly diabetic patients in a community
Objective To explore the role of dynamic blood glucose monitoring in standardizing the management of chronic diabetes in the community. Methods From June 2023 to December 2023,100 patients with type 2 diabetes who met the inclusion criteria were recruited from Caojing Town,Jinshan District,Shanghai. They were randomly divided into experi-mental group and control group by random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. All patients were given standard-ized management measures for chronic diseases in community, and the observation period was 4 weeks. The control group re-ceived rapid blood glucose monitoring, while the experimental group received 72 hours of dynamic blood glucose monitoring,After the test, the community adjusted the patients'diet, medication, exercise and other strategies according to the results of dynamic blood glucose analysis. Results After 4 weeks of intervention, the blood glucose metabolism indexes(FPG,HbA1c,2 h PG),behavior management SDSCA(diet management, exercise management, blood glucose monitoring, medication compli-ance,foot care)score, hypoglycemic fear(HFSⅡ-BS)score,and quality of life WHOQOL-BREF(physiological and psycholog-ical)score of the experimental group were lower than those of the same group before the intervention and those of the control group after 4 weeks of intervention, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Community management strategy for chronic diabetes based on dynamic blood glucose monitoring results can improve patients'behavior management ability, better control abnormal blood glucose, reduce fear of hypoglycemia, and improve quality of life.
