Analysis of correlation between quality of life and coping style and joint function in elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis
Objective To analyze the correlation between quality of life and coping style and joint function in elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA),and provide a basis for formulating corresponding nursing intervention measures. Methods A total of 108 elderly RA patients(RA group)and 108 elderly healthy persons(healthy control group)who visited Outpatient Department of Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from March 2020 to March 2023 were selected as the study subjects. The correlation between quality of life and coping style and joint function in elderly RA patient was ana-lyzed.Results The scores of 8 dimensions of quality of life of the RA group were lower than those of the healthy control group(t =81.858,60.514,21.319,22.938,35.195,27.696,53.861 and 34.435,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in face-to-face scores between the two groups(t =1.643,P>0.05),but the avoidance score and yield score of the RA group were significantly higher than those of the healthy control group(t =15.428,10.261,P<0.05).Pearson correla-tion analysis showed that the score of quality of life of RA patients was positively correlated with the face-to-face score of medi-cal coping styles(P<0.05),and negatively correlated with yield score and avoidance score(P<0.05).The score of quality of life of RA patients was negatively correlated with VAS score,DAS28 score, and HAQ score(P<0.05).Conclusion The quality of life of elderly RA patients is closely related to coping styles and joint function.Medical staff should provide targeted intervention measures to patients as early as possible to improve their quality of life, encourage them to actively cope with disea-ses,and promote the recovery of the disease.
