Study on the effects of remote guidance through a home rehabilitation APP for stroke patients after discharge
Objective To investigate the effects of remote guidance through a stroke home rehabilitation APP on limb function, daily living ability, psychological status, and social support of patients after discharge. Methods 100 stroke patients discharged from Department of Rehabilitation Medicine,Zhoupu Hospital in Pudong New District from August 2022 to Septem-ber 2023 were selected and randomly divided into control group(50 cases)and observation group(50 cases). The control group received common home rehabilitation treatment, and the observation group received rehabilitation treatment under the re-mote guidance of home rehabilitation APP.Both groups were treated for 3 months. Before and after intervention, the Simpli-fied Fugl Meyer Motor Function Scale(FMA),Tinetti Balance and Gait Scale,Modified Barthel Index(MBI),Hamilton De-pression Scale(HAMD17),and Caregiver Stress Index(CSI)were used for evaluation. Results There were no significant differences in the scores of FMA,Tinetti,MBI,HAMD17 and CSI between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).Af-ter the first and third month of intervention, the scores of FMA,Tinetti,MBI,HAMD17 and CSI of the two groups were sig-nificantly different from those of the same group before intervention(P<0.05).After the first month of intervention, there was no significant difference in the scores of FMA(upper limb),Tinetti(gait),MBI,and CSI between the two groups(P>0.05),but there was significant differences in the scores of FMA(lower limb),Tinetti(balance),and HAMD17 between the two groups(P<0.05).After the third month of intervention, there were significant differences in the scores of FMA,Tinetti,MBI,HAMD17 and CSI between the two groups, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Remote guidance through the stroke home rehabilitation APP can effectively improve the limb function and daily living abilities of stroke patients after discharge, reduce their psychological depression, and alleviate their social pressure.
