Application of platelet-rich plasma technology combined with wound therapists-led comprehensive management in pressure ul-cers in elderly orthopedic inpatients
Objective To investigate the effects of platelet-rich plasma(PRP)technology combined with wound thera-pist-led comprehensive management in the treatment of pressure ulcers in elderly orthopedic inpatients. Methods Sixty elderly patients with pressure ulcers admitted to Department of Orthopedics,Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical College from January 2022 to January 2024 were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group by digital table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with wet healing dressing. On the basis of the treatment of the control group, the observation group was treated with PRP technology and wound therapist-led comprehensive management. The wound healing time, healing rate and pain degree(VAS score)of the two groups were compared. The levels of inflamma-tory factors(serum CRP,IL-6 and TNF-α)and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the wound healing time of the observation group was significantly shorter than that of the control group[(16.28±2.81)d vs(22.91±5.04)d],the healing rate was significantly higher than that of the control group(86.7%vs 56.7%),the VAS score was lower than that of the control group[(1.45±0.38)vs(3.68±0.41)],and the total effective rate of treatment was significantly higher than that of the control group(93.3%vs 66.7%),and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of CRP,IL-6 and TNF-α in both groups after treatment were lower than those of the same group before treatment, and the levels of CRP,IL-6 and TNF-α in the observation group af-ter treatment were lower than those in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of PRP tech-nology and wound therapist-led comprehensive management has significant therapeutic effects on pressure ulcers in elderly or-thopedic inpatients, and has certain clinical application value.
