Analysis of intervention effects of empathy communication model under empathy opportunity-response model training in elder-ly patients with acute myeloid leukemia during treatment
Objective To explore the intervention effects of empathy communication model under empathy opportunity-response model training in elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia during treatment(AML).Methods 112 elderly AML patients admitted to Shangjin Hospital of West China Hospital of Sichuan University from January 2019 to December 2023 were selected.They were divided into empathy group(n=56)and conventional group(n=56).The conventional group received conventional treatment during the treatment period,while the empathy group received empathy communication model interven-tion under the empathy opportunity-response model training on the basis of conventional group.The emotional status[Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90)],degree of cancer-induced fatigue[Revised Piper Fatigue Scale(RPFS)],degree of perceptive so-cial support[Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)],treatment compliance[Medication Adherence Rating Scale(MARS)],levels of laboratory biochemical indicators[serum total protein(TP),prealbumin(PA),transferrin(TF)]and quality of life[Quality of Life Instruments for Cancer Patients with Leukemia(QLICP-LE)]were observed and compared be-tween the two groups before and after intervention.Results After intervention,the scores of somatization,obsessive-compul-sive symptoms,interpersonal sensitivity,depression,anxiety and hostility of SCL-90 and scores of emotional fatigue,cognitive and emotional fatigue,sensory fatigue and behavioral fatigue of RPFS decreased in both groups(P＜0.05),and the above scores in the empathy group were lower than those in the conventional group(P＜0.05);the PSSS score and scores of physical state,psychological state,social state,common symptoms and adverse effects,and specific module of QLICP-LE in both groups increased after intervention(P＜0.05),and the above scores in the empathy group were higher than those in the con-ventional group(P＜0.05).After intervention,the levels of TP,PA and TF decreased in both groups(P＜0.05),while the above levels in the empathy group were higher than those in the conventional group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Empathy com-munication model under empathy opportunity-response model training can effectively improve the emotional status of patients with AML,alleviate their degree of cancer-related fatigue,enhance the degree of perceived social support,improve the treat-ment compliance,nutritional status and quality of life.It has certain clinical application value.
