A study on image quality of coronary CT examination in elderly patients with nasal clip breath-holding method
Objective To evaluate the image quality of coronary CT examination in elderly patients with nasal clip breath-holding method. Methods 73 patients who underwent coronary CT examination in Huadong Hospital Affiliated to Fu-dan University from March to June 2024 were collected. All of them underwent coronary CT angiography(CCTA)with the na-sal clamp breath-holding method.Meanwhile,73 elderly patients who underwent CCTA examination from March to June 2023 were retrospectively collected as the control group.Their BMI,radiation dose, average CT value of the image and noise, and the lesion conditions of coronary artery branches were recorded. The signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and contrast-to-noise ratio(CNR)were analyzed.Statistical analysis was made for each index. Results The SNR of coronary artery was(38.02±22.96)in the observation group and(28.17±13.63)in the control group. The CNR of coronary artery was(29.04±14.80)in the observation group and(21.96±10.08)in the control group. There were statistically significant differences in the image quality of coronary arteries between the two groups(P<0.05),but there was no statistically significant difference in BMI,ra-diation dose, and the image quality of the aorta between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The nasal clamp breath-holding method is suitable for the elderly. It can improve their cooperation and image quality during coronary CT examinations.
