Effects of fiberoptic bronchoscopic BAL combined with methylprednisolone on blood gas analysis, inflammatory factors and lung function in elderly patients with bronchiectasis complicated with infection
Objective To observe the effects of fiberoptic bronchoscopic bronchoalveolar lavage(BAL)combined with methylprednisolone on blood gas analysis, inflammatory factors and lung function in elderly patients with bronchiectasis compli-cated with infection. Methods The case of 102 elderly patients with bronchiectasis combined with infection admitted to Third People's Hospital of Yibin City from January 2021 to January 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. They were divided into com-bined group(fiberoptic bronchoscopic BAL combined with methylprednisolone,n=52)and control group(fiberoptic broncho-scopic BAL,n=50)according to different treatment methods. The therapeutic effect, blood gas index values, inflammatory factor level and lung function of the two groups were observed and compared. Results The total effective rate of clinical effi-cacy in the combined group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of PaO2,SaO2,FVC,FEV,and FEV1/FVC in both groups were higher than those in the same group before treatment(P<0.05),and the lev-els in the combined group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);the levels of PaCO2,CRP,PCT and ESR in both groups were lower than those in the same group before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels in the combined group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of fiberoptic bronchoscopy BAL and methyl-prednisolone is effective in the treatment of elderly patients with bronchiectasis complicated with infection, which can promote the recovery of lung function, improve the oxygenation capacity and alleviate the inflammatory response of the body.
