Analysis of related influencing factors of postoperative fatigue syndrome in elderly patients with rib fractures
Objective To analyze the related influencing factors of postoperative fatigue syndrome(POFS)in elderly patients with rib fracture, and provide reference for postoperative rehabilitation of patients. Methods 160 elderly patients with rib fracture who received treatment in Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery of First People's Hospital of Huai'an City from February 2019 to February 2024 were retrospectively selected as the study subjects. The occurrence of POFS was assessed.Their clinical data were recorded including gender, age, education level, comorbidities, smoking and drinking history,nutri-tional status, number of rib fractures, postoperative sleep disorders, postoperative depression and anxiety, postoperative pain, and levels of serum albumin(ALB),transferrin(TRF),and total protein(TP).Univariate and binary Logistic regression analysis were performed to analyze the related factors affecting POFS.Results Among the 160 patients included in the study,40 ones developed POFS after surgery, with an incidence of 25.00%(40/160),including 4 ones with severe fatigue,10 ones with moderate fatigue and 26 ones with mild fatigue. There was no significant difference in gender, education level, smoking history, drinking history, number of rib fractures and serum TP level between the non-POFS group and the POFS group(P>0.05),but there were statistically significant differences in age,GNRI score,aCCI score, postoperative sleep disorder,post-operative depression and anxiety, postoperative pain score and serum ALB level between the two groups(P<0.05).Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that age,GNRI score,aCCI score, postoperative sleep disorders, postoperative depression and anxiety, and postoperative pain score were independent influencing factors for the occurrence of POFS in patients after sur-gery(P<0.05).Conclusion There are many influencing factors for POFS in elderly patients with rib fractures, and they are interrelated.According to the influencing factors such as age,GNRI score,aCCI score, postoperative sleep disorder,postoper-ative depression and anxiety and postoperative pain, targeted intervention strategies should be developed to reduce the incidence of POFS and improve the prognosis of elderly patients.
