Effects of self-intervention strengthening checklist on perioperative self-management ability and compliance with functional ex-ercise in elderly patients with ankle fracture
Objective To explore the effects of self-intervention strengthening checklist on perioperative self-manage-ment ability and compliance with functional exercise in elderly patients with ankle fracture. Methods 100 elderly patients with ankle fracture treated in Department of Foot and Ankle Surgery,Ninth People's Hospital of Wuxi City from April 2022 to March 2024 were selected and divided into observation group(n=55)and control group(n=45)according to different nurs-ing methods. The control group received routine perioperative nursing, and the observation group received intervention by means of self-intervention strengthening checklist on the basis of the control group. The intervention time was from immediately after operation to 3 months after discharge. The self-management ability, compliance with functional exercise, ankle joint func-tion and nursing satisfaction of the two groups were observed and compared. Results After intervention, the scores of all di-mensions of ESCA in both groups were higher than those of the same group before intervention(P<0.05),and the observa-tion group was higher than the control group(P<0.05);the compliance with functional exercise and scores of ankle joint function in both groups were higher than those in the same group before intervention(P<0.05),and the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(96.36%vs 82.22%,P<0.05).Conclusion The self-intervention strengthening checklist can not only im-prove the self-management ability of elderly patients with ankle fracture, but also enhance their compliance with functional exer-cise and improve ankle joint function. It has a high nursing satisfaction.
