Effects of individualized enteral nutrition intervention on elderly patients with ulcerative colitis based on PG-SGA scale
Objective To observe the effects of individualized enteral nutrition intervention on the score of Subjective Global Assessment(PG-SGA)scale and nutritional indexes in elderly patients with ulcerative colitis(UC),and provide meth-ods for improving the prognosis of clinical patients. Methods 100 elderly patients with active UC treated in Traditional Chi-nese Medicine Hospital of Jiangsu Province from January 2023 to March 2024 were retrospectively selected as the study sub-jects.They were divided into control group and observation group according to different nutritional intervention methods. The control group received routine nutrition management, and the observation group received individualized enteral nutrition inter-vention on the basis of the control group. The PG-SGA scale scores, nutritional indexes, immune indexes and quality of life be-fore and after intervention in the two groups were recorded. Results After intervention, the PG-SGA scores of the two groups were lower than those of the same group before intervention, and the levels of serum HGB,PA and ALB were higher than those of the same group before intervention, and the PG-SGA score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the serum levels of HGB,PA and ALB were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the levels of serum CD8+of the two groups was lower than those of the same group before intervention, and the levels of serum CD4+and CD3+were higher than those of the same group before intervention, and the level of CD8+of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the levels of CD4+and CD3+were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of SF-36 scale of the two groups were higher than those of the same group before inter-vention,and the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Individualized enteral nutrition intervention can reduce PG-SGA scale score in elderly UC patients, improve their immune function, nutrition indexes and quali-ty of life.
