Objective To analyze the ultrasonographic features and diagnosis and treatment of ovarian thecoma.Meth-ods Eighty patients with suspected ovarian thecoma diagnosed and treated in gynecology department of our hospital from October 2017 to March 2022 were selected. The examination was performed using colour Doppler ultrasound instruments from Mindray,GE and Philips, and the pathological examination results of the lesion tissues obtained in surgery were taken as the"gold standard".Results Of the 80 suspected patients,71 were pathologically confirmed to be ovarian thecoma and 9 were non-ovarian thecoma.Sixty-three cases were diagnosed by ultrasound, and the accuracy rate was 88.73%.The sensi-tivity,specificity,positive predictive value, negative predictive value and kappa value of ultrasound in the diagnosis of ovari-an thecoma were 87.50%,40%,95.46,18.62 and 0.176 respectively. The value of ultrasound for the diagnosis of ovarian thecoma was less consistent despite its high sensitivity and positive predictive value. In 21 cases of solid posterior echogenic attenuation, the interior of the tumor was hypoechoic, with varying degrees of posterior echogenic attenuation visible. In 33 cases of solid hypoechogenicity, homogeneous or heterogeneous hypoechogenicity was seen within the tumor with oligomeric hyperechogenicity and no posterior echogenic attenuation. In 9 cases of cystic echogenicity, anechoic areas of varying size were seen within the tumor, and restricted thick-walled solid areas were visible. Conclusion Ultrasound diagnosis of ovari-an thecoma has high accuracy but poor consistency, which is related to the lack of clinical specificity of the tumor.
