Effect of"Liuzijue"Respiratory Exercise Combined with Occupational Therapy on Balance Abili-ty and Cardiopulmonary Function in Patients with Stroke during Convalescence
Objective To explore the effect of"Liuzijue"respiratory exercise combined with occupational therapy on balance ability and cardiopulmonary function in patients with stroke during convalescence. Methods One hundred and twenty patients with balance disorder and cardiopulmonary dysfunction after stroke were enrolled, and classified into two groups by random number table methods, each with 60 cases.Control group received conventional occupational therapy, while observation group received"Liuzijue"respiratory exercise combined with occupational therapy. The cardiopulmonary function and balance ability were assessed in both groups at three course after treatment.Pulmonary function parameters in-cluding forced vital capacity(FVC)and forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),cardiac function indicators inclu-ding left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD),and Berg Balance Scale(BBS)were assessed in all subjects. Results Before treatment,no statistical difference was found in pulmonary function parameters, cardiac function indicators and balance ability between two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the cardiopulmo-nary function parameters and BBS score of observation group were notably better than those of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Application of"Liuzijue"respiratory exercise combined with occupational therapy in patients with stroke dur-ing convalescence is of great value in ameliorating the cardiopulmonary function and balance ability in patients.
