Objective To explore the effects of tirofiban on serum cytokines, neurological function and prognosis in pa-tients underwent thrombectomy for acute cerebral infarction. Methods The clinical data of 200 patients underwent throm-bectomy for acute cerebral infarction in Wuhan Central Hospital, affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, from January 2020 to March 2023 were analyzed.Patients were classified into two groups accord-ing to the presence or absence of tirofiban therapy after surgery, observation group(n=100)and control group(n=100).Serum cytokine indicators[neuron specific enolase(NSE),interleukin-6(IL-6),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)],neurological function[National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)]and prognosis[Modified Rankin Scale(mRS)score]were compared between two groups. Results Serum cytokine indexes and neurological function parameters yielded no statistical difference between two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, observation group had lower NSE,IL-6 and TNF-α levels than those of control group(P<0.05).Observation group scored lower on NIHSS at postoperative 14d and mRS at postoperative 3 months than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Tirofiban for patients underwent thrombectomy for acute cerebral infarction can effectively improve neurological function, platelet function and prognosis, and attenuate the inflammatory response in patients.
