Objective To investigate the effect and safety of oral prednisone acetate in the prevention of esophageal ste-nosis after early esophageal cancer surgery. Methods 76 patients with early esophageal cancer surgery in our hospital from January 2018 March to March 2020 were enrolled, and equally divided into two groups. The endoscopic submucosal dissec-tion was performed in both groups.Control group received routine treatment, while observation group received oral predni-sone acetate. Then the incidence rate of esophageal stenosis was recorded in both groups. Results The incidence rate of e-sophageal stenosis was lower in observation group than in control group(P<0.05).The healing rate of patients with stage S1 ulcer had no difference between groups at postoperative 8wks(P>0.05),and the adverse reaction rate had no difference between groups(P>0.05);The frequency of endoscopic balloon dilation(EBD)at postoperative 6mon was lower in observa-tion group than in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Prophylactic oral administration of prednisolone acetate can ef-fectively prevent esophageal stenosis, reduce the frequency of EBD treatment after operation, and has no significant effect on ulcer healing for patients with early esophageal cancer surgery, with low adverse drug reactions.
