Application of Activating Spleen and Nourishing Kidney Method in School-Age Idiopathic Nanosomia
Objective To explore the activating spleen and nourishing kidney method on school-age children with idiopathic nanosomia(ISS).Methods Between August 2021 and August 2022,120 school-age children with ISS were randomly selected and divided into treatment group(57 cases)and control group(63 cases)by random number table method. The treatment group was treated with growth hormone assisted by activating spleen and nourishing kidney method, while the control group was treated with growth hormone alone. The changes of TCM syndrome scores, bone age[bone age index(BAI),bone age difference(BAD)],body size and growth rate(GV)were compared between the two groups before and after treatment, and the changes of insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1),IGF-1-binding protein 3(IGFBP-3),25 hydroxyvitamin D[25(OH)D],thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)and fasting blood glucose(FBG)in peripheral blood were detected before and after treatment. Results After treat-ment,the scores of turmeric syndrome in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the height, weight and GV were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, bone age indexes[BAI,BAD and predicted adult height(PAH)]in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the concentrations of IGF-1,IGFBP-3 and 25(OH)D in the peripheral blood of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05),and there was no difference in the concentrations of TSH and FBG in the peripheral blood between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The method of activating spleen and nourishing kidney method assisting growth hormone in the treatment of school-age children with ISS has a significant effect, and can promote the growth and development and improve the bone metabolism, without significant effect on carbohydrate metabolism and thyroid function.
