Therapeutic Effect of Tendon Acupuncture Combined with Joint Mobilization on Frozen Shoulder
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of tendon acupuncture combined with joint mobilization on frozen shoulder. Methods A total of 86 patients with frozen shoulder who were admitted to the Rehabilitation Department of Tongxiang Ruijin Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital from August 1,2020 to November 30,2022 were divided into an observation group and a control group by random number table method with 43 patients in each group. The control group under-went joint mobilization, while the observation group underwent tendon acupuncture before joint mobilization.Clinical effects, visual analogue scale(VAS)scores,Constant-Murley scores, the levels of serum prostaglandin E2(PGE2)and bradykinin were com-pared between groups. Results After treatment, the excellent and good rate of clinical effects in the observation group(92.86%)was higher than that in the control group(85.37%)(Fisher's exact probability test,P=0.313).There were statistically signifi-cant differences in VAS scores in terms of time effect,inter-group effect and interaction effect(F=854.400,95.610,30.150,all P<0.05).After 1 and 2 courses of treatment, the VAS scores of the two groups decreased significantly, and the observation group had lower scores than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores for pain and joint range of motion were significantly improved, and the scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the lev-els of serum PGE2 and bradykinin in both groups decreased significantly, and the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Tendon acupuncture combined with joint mobilization can effectively improve the clinical effect in treating frozen shoulder, relieve pain and improve joint range of motion.
