Cultivation Experiment of Quercus acutissima in Rocky Desertification Areas of Chenzhou
The conclusion was drawn by studying the growth of different afforestation tree species in rocky desertification areas and the growth of Quercus acutissima under different altitudes and soil parent material types. In the rocky desertification area of Chenzhou, the height growth(210.87~216.87 cm)and diameter growth(22.57~28.80 mm)of Quercus acutissima in the mixed forest of Quercus acutissima and Cupressus funebris Endl.are greater than those of Cupressus funebris Endl.(148.60~188.60 cm)and diameter growth(20.00~22.24 mm);Similarly, the height growth(244.83~250.47 cm)and ground diameter growth(30.34~34.40 mm)of Quercus acutissima in the mixed forest of Quercus acutissima and Swida wilsoniana(Wanger.)Sojak are also greater than those of height growth(180.80~235.60 cm)and ground diameter growth(20.49~29.10 mm)of Swida wilsoniana(Wanger.)Sojak.Overall,the growth of Quercus acutissima is significantly better than that of Cupressus funebris Endl.and Swida wilsoniana(Wanger.)Sojak, which are commonly used tree species for reforestation in the rocky desertification areas of Chenzhou. This also indicates that Quercus acutissima is suitable for afforestation and promotion in the rocky desertification area of Chenzhou. In addition, the tree height and ground diameter growth of Quercus acutissima are significantly influenced by site conditions such as altitude and soil parent material type. The higher the altitude, the smaller the growth. The limestone is better than glutenite and granite. The impact on ground diameter growth is weaker than that on tree height growth.
